Lexmark is one of the best known manufacturers of printers and you can either buy a new inkjet cartridge or an ink cartridge refill if you use this type of printer. Here are a few of the most popular Lexmark cartridges.
Lexmark Cartridge 1
The Lexmark cartridge 1 contains cyan, yellow and magenta ink. The colors also combine for black ink, so you do not need an additional black cartridge. It will print everything from basic text to high quality photos and prints equally well on plain paper and glossy photographic paper. This cartridge also gives crisp text and sharp graphics. It is also compatible with the one-cartridge only Lexmark Z735, X2350 and X3740 printers and will print about a hundred and ninety pages. There is a smart chip in these cartridges telling the printer how many pages have been printed but you can still refill these cartridges a few times.
Lexmark 3 Ink Cartridge
The Lexmark 3 ink cartridge contains only black ink. This cartridge is suitable for the X2480, X2580, X3480, X3580, X4580, Z1380 and Z1480 printers. It delivers true, rich blank ink and will print everything from documents to black and white photographs on either plain or glossy photographic paper. You can get a cartridge refill if you are on a budget. It is best to refill this cartridge when it is between a third and half full. Waiting until it is nearly empty can burn out the print head.
Lexmark 28 Ink Cartridge
This is a black ink cartridge which is capable of printing up to a hundred and seventy five pages. It is compatible with Lexmark X5070, Z1300 and Z845 inkjet printers. These cartridges are able to generate top quality printing using pigment-based ink for water resistant and fade resistant text and graphics. Refills are available for these printers too and they work very well.
Lexmark 48 Cartridge
This is a black inkjet cartridge which is compatible with various Lexmark printers, including the Z700 series, P700 series, P3150 and P3120. This cartridge will print up to two hundred and twenty five pages, using pigment-based ink for high quality and lasting print. It is suitable for printer users who print occasionally or moderately. This ink is suitable for high resolution prints and offers fade resistance for document storage. The microscopic ink drop size means incredible detail and print clarity.
Lexmark 90 Ink Cartridge
This is a photo color ink cartridge which can print up to four hundred and fifty pages in full color. You can use this ink cartridge in most of the printers in the Lexmark Color JetPrinter range, Lexmark OptraColor printers and various other models. The high quality ink in the Lexmark 90 ink cartridge offer the very best quality for printing graphics and photos and the colors come out equally well on plain or glossy photographic paper.

Whether it is students, professionals, artists or entrepreneurs, the demand for quality printers is on the rise. Inkjets’ are special because of their high quality printing by way of excellent colour compatibility, border less printing, double side printing, optional duplex, MAC connectivity and USB interface. Printing quality is excellent and delivery is also very quick. Most brands offer all the above in addition to other features. This is the best choice not only because it offers a unique range of distinctive colours like black, magenta, yellow and cyan but also because it offers a unique image enhancement technology.
The power supply and device is internal and therefore there is not a medley of wires sticking out to be connected to the mains. The inkjet printer is also quite low on power consumption. With greater concerns about increasing power consumption and the need for conserving energy this printer is naturally the best choice. AC power demand ranges from 120 to 230volts. With a resolution of 1200dpi and a 32MB RAM and 100 sheets media capacity and the highest monthly duty cycle of 3000pages, inkjet printers are an excellent choice.
The multifunction inkjet printer boasts extra features like fax and four inkjet technologies, and memory card apart from the copier, printer, and scanner functions. Media types include envelopes, transparencies, greeting cards, labels, plain paper, iron-on, transfers, photo paper, cards and index cards. Some inkjet printers also support a six ink palette. The resolution is excellent for every inch. As scanner it offers colour depth and grey scale depth. Documents can be enlarged or reduced. It can be enlarged up to 400 percent of the original size and reduced to 25 percent of its actual size.
There are other printers which make such a grating sound as they work that it is bound to disturb the peace of the atmosphere. However most inkjet printers promise low noise disturbance. They work quietly and efficiently and are considered a valuable asset for the smooth working of the office.
It is does not occupy much space and has the compact dimensions of 37 D, 18H and 8W. It can weigh as light as 8 kilograms. The printer has a tray that can take in an output of 50 sheets and able to hold 100 sheets in the tray holding the input.
Pictures or documents, letters or images, inkjet printers are the smartest printing and copying devices known to todays’ demanding and quality conscious users.

How to Find Cheap Printer Ink Cartridges For Printers

If you would like to learn why you should no longer buy your printer ink cartridges from your local big box store, then you need to read this article.
As with any product that is sold on the internet, printer ink is dropping in price. However, local stores that you used to shop at are not staying competitive. I have a good feeling that the reason these big stores don’t lower their prices is because of the fact that a lot of their customers do not compare prices with online ink stores.
Online stores can often sell discount ink cartridges because they specialize in the product and they also have a lower overhead than big electronic stores who employ a lot of people.
Another good reason to buy ink cartridges on the Internet is the fact that you can look up reviews of the store in seconds (literally). You don’t rely on a sales rep telling you that you are getting the best price.
When you shop online, everything is transparent. Stores that do business online are always staying up on other stores prices. This drives down the cost of printer ink among ink stores.
If you are not convinced yet that you should be buying all your printer ink online, why not take a look at a few prices in your local store and then compare them with online. You are going to see a shocking difference of anywhere from 30% to 70% with a lot of name brand printers. If a massive price difference such as this isn’t enough to get you to start buying ink cartridges online, then you will continue to throw money away.

Should You Avoid Very Cheap Inkjet Printers?

Inkjet printers are a great addition to any home or workplace. They have a relatively high paper capacity, and they print fairly fast. One major question mark hanging over them when it comes to buying a new model is whether or not you should steer clear of the cheap inkjet printer. Some would say this is a matter of perspective and pride, and others would say it needs to be based on the cold hard facts.
From past experience you probably know that it is best to avoid cheap products. They tend to work moderately well for a little while, and then they fall apart. This has almost always been the case with almost every single cheap product, and one would think that the same applies with inkjet printers. In all honesty it depends highly on what inkjet printer you are looking at.
The first thing you need to look at is when the model you’re looking at was manufactured. If it was made several years ago then what you are probably looking at is a product of the last generation that the manufacturer is trying to get rid of. In this case, they would mark the price down significantly. Other than a few relics to keep on hand, they would want to keep their storeroom devoid of such devices to make room for the newer models.
If this is the case, then it might be okay to go ahead and buy this printer so long as it had great reviews in its day. It may not have all the features of the more recent models, but if you are just looking to print documents, then a cheap last generation printer may be the perfect solution for you.
Then you have the cheap printers of this generation. Are these a good purchase or not? If it was made recently and is priced extremely low, then you will need to read some reviews. User reviews are the best source of information when it comes to computer peripherals, and you can find many of them on the internet. Some of the best places are the auction websites where they are sold constantly. People will leave reviews and rank the product.
So when you look at the product ranking, see whether or not people have had good things to say about it. Whether or not it has held up, passed the test of time, or even worked period. There are some cheap inkjet printers that will print with very poor quality, and these are the ones to avoid. You might however find an extremely cheap inkjet that performs very well. It’s just impossible to tell without trying in this day and age. Keep in mind that a cheap printer won’t have all the features you might be looking for but at the very least it will do its basic job.
In the end your purchases fall solely into your capable hands. As long as you follow the advice of the masses and choose a printer based on your needs you will be absolutely fine. That being said, good luck finding a printer!

Advantages of A Laser Printer
April 18, 2009 by Ink Jet

Does a laser printer have enough advantages that it is worth a splurge or should you spend your hard earned money on a cheaper inkjet printer instead? Before you make your decision it might be worth your while to look at some of the advantages offered by laser printers.
First of all laser printers are known for their speed. A laser can move very quickly so it can transfer information incredibly quickly to the paper. Rather than just print a section of a page as an inkjet printer does, a laser printer allows you to print an entire page at a time. This makes it much easier to print graphics mixed with text that are designed with a computer program.
Another benefit of using a laser printer is that it is more precise then other types of printers, but especially inkjet and impact style printers. This is because the laser beam transfers the image to be replicated very precisely on to the paper, which saves the spilling of any extra ink.
Another benefit of laser printers is that many of them are very modern and energy efficient. It doesn’t cost as much to keep the machine running. In terms of cost, the use of toner in a laser printer is much cheaper than the ink cartridges that are used in inkjet printers over the long run. This is because expensive ink cartridges can be used up very quickly, especially if you are printing in color.
Yet another convenience when it comes to using laser printers is that they are less messy to deal with this. You can easily refill or replace the toner cartridges that are filled with a fine powder. This fine powder is much easier to clean up then ink that can be spilled everywhere as you attempt to fill the cartridge from an ink jet printer.
In general laser printers can often hold more ink and can go longer without needing any kind of toner cartridge change or paper filling. This means that it is a lot freer and that it can practically serve more people at one time if they are all working together in a small office.
Color laser printers also offer their users more potential for creativity and design then a simple black and white printer. Suddenly it is possible to brand every piece of stationary you have with your own logo or colorful promotional designs. Formerly expensive printing jobs such as the printing of posters, postcards, business cards or invitations can now be simply done in the office instead of being farmed out.
Laser printers also give designers and artist a lot more control over their final product before it is submitted to a printer as the pages that are spewed out of a color laser printer can closely approximate the finished product. This makes the reading, correcting and approval of any final proofs a much simpler and easier job!
Another perk to owning a laser printer is that you can buy them as part of an all-in-one type machine that also includes a copier and fax in one unit. This is a great innovation as it allows you to streamline a couple of major appliances into one appliance. As this one machine now uses the same paper and cartridge for many different uses and functions you also find yourself saving on computer ink and paper as you do not have to buy as many different brands or types of supplies for it as you would for three or four machines. Thankfully these types of laser printers are dropping in price so that they are now not that much more expensive then a quality inkjet printer.

Best Inkjet Printer Models for School/Student Use
April 14, 2009 by Ink Jet

Students have gotten so savvy about how they use their personal technology. What the product was originally intended for is not necessarily what the product will be used for. With this in mind picking which inkjet is the best printer for student or school use should be tempered with the fact that just basic affordable printers are being discussed.
Be careful what you ask for
Marketers can be a sneaky bunch. Just because they say that an inkjet printer does this or that does not necessarily mean that it does what YOU think that means. Don’t take their word for it. Where possible hit the Best Buy or wherever and try to see the hardcopy before you buy. The better price will mean very little if the printer does not do what you want it to do.
Some choices
As mentioned before everybody looking for a printer for student use has a different need. Judging from what is being sold, however, multi-function affordable printers are what most are looking for. The College Buying Guide lists multi-function affordable printers as the top three choices for affordable printers.
HP Photosmart C7180 color printer is the top choice by this site. Affordability is in the eye of the beholder, with a price tag ranging from $300-400, but the unit does come off as fairly efficient with a user rating of 6.5. CNET editors gave a 6.8 rating.
HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 is a printer for student use that may be of interest. It is also a multi-function unit. It is rated as second in the CNET rankings but it does appear a bit large for student use. Perhaps if advanced course work dictates a higher printing needs the printers size and cost $300-500 can be justified. This does appear to be agreed upon as its user rating is a scant 5.5 user rating out of ten. CNET editors gave it an 8.2 rating of 10 so perhaps a student that is in grad school may be a better target user.
The Cannon Pixma MP830 may be a good compromise in affordable printers. Its cost starts to get down into the reality of what a student can realistically afford on a budget.
An average $160-333 price tag from over 30 online stores makes this unit look good from the start. Its rating isn’t too shabby at 6.6 out of 10 by users and 7.2 by editors.

Printer Inkjet Cartridges

Whether it is office stationary or home PC printing, the choice of inkjet cartridges are numerous. Requirements are varied and the market is flooded with different models. Inkjet cartridges are being used worldwide for printers. Both original and refill varieties can be purchased. The quality of each is similar, depending on the printing needs. Companies like Dell, Brother, NEC, HP, Samsung, Toshiba and Canon have models to suit PC requirements. Some are of high quality for prints and images. These are expensive and used professionally. The lower gradation ones can be used for paper printing in office or at home.
How do printer inkjet cartridges work to bring out the best print outs and pictures? All printers are attached to the computer. It has two ink cartridges compartments. One is for black, the basic color and the other is the primary color cartridge. The two are divided by metal plates. The printer inkjet has numerous tiny holes on the head of the printer head of the cartridge. When the print command is given the current moves along the metal and heats up the ink. This results in the heating and swelling of the ink. It melts and moves out in the form of droplets on the paper.
The entire process happens within fractions and the print out is out in seconds. The cartridges can be stored for a year or two before they dry up. Constant use makes them work perfectly. Consumers need to refer to guidelines before buying cartridges.

Save Money on Printer Inkjet Cartridges

If you are reading this then you are most likely aware at the high cost of printer inkjet cartridges. Luckily for us, there are quality websites out there that offer vast selections of ink cartridges, toner cartridges, and refill kits at great prices. If you would like to learn more about the different options available to buying ink and toner online, then please continue reading for the main solutions of refilling printer ink cartridges and toner cartridges.
Shopping for Printer Inkjet Cartridges Online:
When deciding to shop online for printer inkjet cartridges, it is important to know the options that are available to you. In the following sections I will give a brief description of the different types cartridges and kits you can purchase online.
OEM Cartridges:
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) cartridges are exactly what you would see at your local retail store. These cartridges are made by the original manufacturers of whatever printer you are buying ink or toner for. While these printer inkjet cartridges ensure no complications and high quality results, they are always at a high price. The reason these cartridges always cost so much money is because the original manufacturers usually create printers at a low cost and in turn, must sell the refill cartridges at a high price to make some profit. If you’d like to save some dollars then I would look into the other means of buying ink below.
Remanufactured Cartridges:
If OEM cartridges are too pricey for you then I would highly recommend trying out a remanufactured ink cartridge for your printer. These cartridges are made by third party professionals and have been cleaned and filled to the top with quality ink. Since these cartridges were not made by the original manufacturers, they are sold at a relatively low price. You can usually find them costing about half of what OEM cartridges sell for. These printer inkjet cartridges are available at great prices but they are not always available to every printer model.
Printer Refill Kits:
If you are looking to save some serious cash on printer ink, and do not mind the hassle of doing it yourself, then buying printer specific refill kits is definitely the best option. Refill kits come with simple step by step instructions and multiple ink containers that can be used to refill your printer inkjet cartridges up to eight times with a single kit. Sadly, these refill kits are not available for every printer model but if one is offered for your printer, then I would take a look into it.
