Epson WorkForce 30 Color Printer C11CA19201

This order was received on time and intact. After installing the software and printing a "test page", we selected a digital picture of multi-colored reef on the ocean floor and printed on hi-glossy photo paper. The printed image looked as if we had the picture developed from a professional photo print shop.
The only issue has been in finding replacement printer cartridges from internet supply shops at discount prices. If we have to buy these cartridges (2 black, one magenta, one yellow, and one blue) from Epson, that could be the downside to the selection of this particular printer. |
Just another printer....

| This printer produces good quality prints; this includes text and photos that are close to laser quality, and is very fast once it gets going. However I have waited up to two minutes for the first page of a job to print, while the printer cycles. The printer is so fast that sometime papers go flying right off the paper catch, not a big deal if you are not printing a large project. There is no built in double side printing like it states in the tech section, it is manual-- the printer will prompt you to reinsert the just printed page and then it will print on the blank side. I feel the printer is worth the price. |
Epson Workforce 30 Ink Jet Printer

I purchased this printer to replace my old and worn out Epson C88 machine. So far in only a few weeks of heavy use, the printer has performed flawlessly. The set up was very easy (do NOT throw away any cables from your old machines as some don't come with then new ones). All my previous printer settings (very laboriously set up) used for the C88 were saved and transfered over with software installation, saving me a lot of work. Note: follow the set up instructions out of the box to the letter and you will have no problems. I then downloaded and installed the latest driver update and have had no difficulties. It has a very small foot print (nice for my cluttered work space) and has a quiet mode to make the noise a bit less when printing and the wife in the next room is sleeping.
All in all for around eighty bucks or less if you shop on line, this new Epson Workforce 30 fits my needs perfectly. I would recommend it to for the occasional user like myself. Also note: when shopping for ink jets, always keep in mind the replacement costs for ink. If you print a lot this will be a MAJOR factor. I shopped around the internet and this model has a replacement ink cartridge that is not TOO expensive. Then it is only around a month old from mfg. market, so cheap ink is not available yet, but will be in a month or two. My C88 worked fine for many months using ink that cost less than a third of OEM ink from Epson. Now they will scream at voiding the warranty, BUT when OEM ink costs as much as a NEW printer, use the cheap ink- what do ya have to loose? |

I have used alot of printers over the year. When it comes to color inkjets, you really cannot beat Epson. They are fast. The quality is quite good. And the compatible cartridges are dirt cheap and readily available.
Don't expect exceptional print quality out of this printer. It is a budget printer, and you get what you pay for. But if you are simply looking for fast and cheap, this printer is an exceptional value.
One thing I really like about this printer is that when not in use, the paper trays fold up, and pretty much seal the innards of the printer. If your office is a dusty environment like mine, you will appreciate this feature. Most inkjets on the market leave the top of the printer open and exposed to dust. |

prints are crystal clear, i was amazed. i printed a dvd cover 3-4mins.
printer's noise (medium) not to bad when compare to others.
installation in windows 7 wasn't a problem. i would say
the whole installation w/carts took about 10-15mins.
printer works great in my home wireless network, intallation in vista 2-3mins.
these type of printers do require maintenance every 6 months (twice a year)
because the printer head is integrated into the cart holder. to avoid any type
of maintenance i recommend getting a printer w/o the integrated head instead
the head is integrated into the cartrigde.
